According to him, most of them were paid as little as GH¢10.00 just to make noise to prove that indeed the Akufo-Addo government has the support of the citizenry.

The ruling New Patriotic Party fulfilled its 2016 campaign promise to provide all 275 constituencies with an ambulance.

President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 supervised the distribution of the ambulances which were dispatched to the various constituencies.

But, the opposition has downplayed the impact of the exercise ahead of a crucial elections in December 2020.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Mr Nukpenu said the distribution of ambulances would not solve the deteriorating economy problems.

He indicated that, what the citizens want is an improvement in their social-economic conditions which in his view have moved from bad to worse.

“People are thinking about kenkey and fish you say ambulance; can it be eaten?” the NDC Regional Secretary quizzed.

Mr Nukpenu expressed shock government bused people to the venue when they [NDC] have done that in past and it did not work for them.

“They bused people to the venue and paid them GH10; most of the people hired don’t even bother themselves to vote. This government should get serious,” he added.
