Acting National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi, says the party’s communicators are poorly resourced.
His revelations follows comments by communications scholar, Professor Kwame Karikari that government communicators and the NPP have failed President Nana Akufo-Addo over their inability to effectively publicise government policies and programs.

Professor Karikari who is also the Dean of the School of Communications Studies at the Wisconsin International University College made the observation on Adom FM’s Burning Issues programme hosted by Afia Pokua.
He was commenting on President Akufo-Addo’s media encounter at the Flagstaff House recently.

Mr Adomako Baafi admits the lapses in the work of party and government communicators, saying even though the party has experience hands to help disseminate information on government policies, same cannot be said about resources.

“I agree with Professor Karikari because his comment is a wake-up call for us. I believe technically we lack resources and that has affected us a lot. We need resources; our communicators have not failed us, we rather need to do more for them.”
He added: “At the appropriate time, I will personally talk to the President to deal with the issue. You will agree with me that in any communication set up, credibility is important and therefore we need to sit up,” he said on Accra-based Neat FM.
