Kpassa-based Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus, with registration number GR 4417-12 loaded with ammunitions, was on Sunday evening intercepted by a team of police personnel in the Oti Region, at Nkwanta on the Kpassa-Bimbila road of the Eastern corridor.

The police, led by Inspector Linus Akpatsa, Lance Copral Michael Appiah and Copral Benjamin Andoh, Municipal Commander ASP William Ayensu and other Officers in-charge of Nkwanta  Police,  intercepted the bus which had ammunitions concealed under the passenger seats and booth, during a random search on the bus at the Nkwanta  Police barrier Sunday evening.

The items retrieved were one (1) SMG raffle plus 3 packetof metal cache consisting of 2,100 rounds of ammunitions.

ASP William Ayensu who disclosed this to Adom News, commended his team for retrieving such weapons from the bus.

He also cautioned drivers and the general public to be extra careful when someone gives out parcels to deliver.

The driver Tony Kwaku Ann Bedu and his conductor Samuel Larbi, has since been kept at the Nkwanta police station assisting the police with investigations.
