“These NDC members are always begging us for money and they are opposing a system which will allow their children be in school?” he quizzed.

The government has explained that the double-track system is to create room to accommodate all students, reduce class size, increase contact hours and increase the number of holidays.

“With this system, each track will be in school for specific days for each semester and go on vacation and come back for the second semester. While the first track is in school, the second track will be on vacation and vice-versa,” President Akufo-Addo has also explained.

Even before the policy could be implemented, some members of the opposition NDC have described it as a “hoax and unsustainable”.

Former Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said the poor planning by the Akufo-Addo-led government is the cause of the introduction of the two-track senior high school system.

Some NDC members have also bought into their party’s idea and have vowed not to allow their children to attend a double-track school.

However on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Ken Agyapong said he pities the NDC members vehemently opposing the double track system.

In his view, they are following their leaders who can afford to take their children to private schools blindly.

“Even NPP members who can afford taking their children to private schools are backing it how much you beggars in NDC” he fumed.

Ken Agyapong urged the NDC to stop the cheap politics and support such a noble initiative by President Akufo-Addo.
