A hunter, identified only as Kofi, has allegedly shot his 47-year-old friend, Yaw Atta to death at Asarekrom in the Adansi South Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region over a misunderstanding between them.

According to reports, the incident happened on Wednesday morning during a communal labour by residents at Asarekrom following several death threats Kofi had received.

According to Adom News’ Regional Correspondent, Isaac Normanyo, Kofi saw his friend with a machete moving towards him during the communal labour and in an attempt to protect himself, fired the shot.

According to Isaac Nornanyo, Kofi, who was gripped with fear following alleged earlier threats to kill him, decided to take an action which led to the death of his friend.

The suspect, who was apprehended by the youth of Asarekrom and handed to the New Edubiase Police, is in custody for further investigations.

The body of the deceased has also been sent to the mortuary.
