Ghana’s Majority Leader in parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu says the one-man campaign being waged by Assin Central Member of Parliament in reaction to the expose by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas hasn’t been sanctioned by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the party and government support Anas’ resolve to expose corrupt people, especially public and civil servants in the country.

The MP has vowed to strip the investigative journalist naked for being a “blackmailer and an extortionist”.

He has claimed on many platforms that Anas isn’t clean, faulting his methodology of entrapment and has promised to ensure he suffers the same fate as his victims.

To back his allegations with evidence, Kennedy Agyepong on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Monday, released an audio recording in which investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas negotiating with people captured in one of his works.

But Minister of Parliamentary Affairs told Nhyira FM’s host of Kuro Yi Mu Nsem, Kofi Asante, that until the Assin Central MP provides concrete evidence to back his claims, it remains mere speculation.

He revealed that, Ken Agyapong has been advised several times to desist from making unpalatable comments about Anas and rather prove with facts, if he has anything against him.

Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu stressed that  Anas’ method of investigation in his latest work on corruption in football administration is no different from previous works.
