The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), says it will take action against persons whose negligence led to the distribution of expired food items to scores of residents affected by floods in the Wa Municipality.

According to the Communications Director for NADMO, George Ayisi, though his outfit took full responsibility for distributing the expired goods, they will soon commence investigation into the matter and deal with such persons if need be.

NADMO fully take responsibility of the incident. As I’m speaking to you now, we are heading to WA to access the damage the issue has caused. I can assure you that if there is the need for heads to roll, trust me, heads will roll to bring perpetrators to book,” he said.

The Vice President and NADMO have received massive public backlash for distributing what was later found to be expired food items to flood victims in Wa in the Upper West region last weekend.

The donation came after weeks of intense media reports of a seeming government neglect of the victims, scores of whom had been displaced by the flood as a result of the spillage of the Bagre Dam.

Executives of the opposition NDC in the region who first made the revelation of the expired food have called for sanctions for the NADMO officials who superintended the donation.
