The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has curtailed the supply of power to Obuasi Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region due to staggering accumulated bills.

The Assembly has been operating in the dark for a month now with a huge debt which runs into GHC 200, 000.00.

According to ECG every effort to retrieve even parts of the money from the assembly has been unsuccessful.

Adom News’ Isaac Normenyo revealed that the Assembly now ration the power which has slowed down activities at the place.

The operation he indicated is part of efforts by the ECG to recover bills owed by state institutions.
