Tempers went high on Saturday evening at the Zylofon office in Kumasi when the entertainment house had its first press soiree in 2018 for media men in the city.
Renowned Ghanaian actor Bill Asamoah at the event spoke highly against entertainment critics in the Garden City for continuously rubbishing the works of moviemakers in the region whenever they are on the radio.
According to the peeved actor, these pundits make actors in the region feel their works are rubbish but fail to offer suggestions after condemning their craft.
The president of the region’s Actors Guild further noted that the journalists after hammering on the bad side of their works do not commend them when they do something right.
He then asked them to direct their grievances to the government because entertainers are putting much efforts in enhancing their craft but are not getting the necessary assistance from higher authorities.
“How many of our people here, in this room who call themselves entertainment whatever have been able to even push this (L.I) on radio? We are in Kumasi but we have been able to shoot movies.
We know some of you. We know what you do. Some of you are here in Kumasi and call yourselves artiste managers but what have you done?” he said
Zionfelix.net is told that Bill’s comments angered most entertainment journalists who were present at the program.
According to our informant, some entertainment show hosts and critics were heard expressing their disappointment in the actor when the show closed. To them, they feel disrespected by the actor’s utterances at the Zylofon Media organised event.
