Farmers from some five communities in the Agbetikpo-Sikor electoral area in the North Tongu district decry lost of acres of farmlands.

The communities, Sikor, Agbetikpo, Menordzi, Fumadorkope, Gyimahkope are farming communities which have been affected by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam.

The spillage which started September 15, has submerged acres of cassava, maize, okro and pepper farms.

The residents fear their life after the flood will be difficult because their source of livelihood have been destroyed by the floodwaters.

They also fear people living in mud houses will be homeless when they floodwater recedes.

Also, a stream near their farmlands has also overflown its bank making it difficult to harvest their crops.

A farmer and Assemblyman for the electoral area, Derrick Kugah in an interview with Adom news reporter, Shine Acquah said they can not go to the farm.
