Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem North constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, Andy Appiah and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Francis Oti Boateng on Saturday had items they donated in respect of the upcoming Muslim festivity rejected by some Zongo youth in the community.

The duo, who seem to be having problems with some of the community members, had the 11 bags of rice, seven bags of sugar and two cartons of milk rejected by the Zongo youth.

Information gathered suggested that Mr Boateng, who was in the company of party executives on a visit to the community mosque, had no option than to leave the scene.

In an interview with Adom News, Aminu Mohammed, spokesperson for the youth revealed that they rejected the items over unfulfilled promises.

“They told us National Democratic Congress deceived us with rice and sugar but they will bring development to the area and it’s been over two years since this promise but we haven’t seen any action on all the promises.

“We are craving for the development they promised not their bags of rice and sugar because we don’t lack food in this community,” he stated with anger.
