The Accra International Book Festival (AIBF) is marking the 27th anniversary of the Fourth Republic by crowdsourcing a list of the best Ghanaian books.

Labelled #AIBF27BOOKS, the campaign seeks to celebrate 27 of the most essential books written by Ghanaians since 1992.

Readers have two months to nominate their favourite titles on the AIBF website to mark the milestone in the life of the Fourth Republic.

All nominations should be sent to info@accrabookfest.com. The campaign ends on Friday, March 8, 2019.

In a bid to trace the changes that have taken place in Ghana so far, the AIBF has launched the campaign to tap into the favourites, passion, and enthusiasm of Ghanaians.

“It is a search for the verdict of the reading public on the cultural, political, social and economic development of Ghana since 1992,” said the AIBF in a statement Monday.

“We want the list to start a never-ending, thought-provoking conversation about Ghana’s future, prompting the change the citizens want,” the statement added.

The selected titles will be discussed and celebrated at a special event hosted by the AIBF and its partners on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
