New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Director of Communications aspirant Dennis Miracles Aboagye has questioned the basis of political analyst Musah Dankwah’s predictions on the likely winners of the party’s national officers’ elections, arguing that they largely reflect conversations on social media rather than the views of delegates.

Mr Aboagye said the outcome of the polls would be determined by party delegates casting their ballots at the National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3.

“It is easy for anybody to predict most of the elections. We don’t need Musa Danquah. Musa Danquah is basically mentioning the names that all the NPP people have been mentioning on social media,” he said.

He argued that the analyst’s projections did not appear to be grounded in direct engagements with the delegates who will decide the contests.

“The delegates who are voting are here. Musa Danquah hasn’t spoken to anybody. He has been engaging in the social media conversation, and then he will engage with what all of us are saying, and then he will make some extrapolations and put something out. That’s all. Nothing extraordinary,” Mr Aboagye said.

Despite his criticism, the communications aspirant said the predictions would not distract him from the contest, stressing that the party needed officers capable of delivering on their responsibilities.

“He knows my position on him. We are looking for leaders that can execute the job. And ultimately the party people will decide who should be the leader,” he said.

Mr Aboagye also called for unity after the elections, saying all contestants should support whoever emerges victorious.

“Whoever they decide, we’ll all rally around and work for the party,” he added.

The NPP is holding its National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where delegates are expected to elect officers to nine national positions.

A total of 7,163 delegates are expected to participate in the exercise, which is being supervised by the Electoral Commission as the party reorganises ahead of the 2028 general election.
