4 fire tenders from Amasaman, Ablemkpe, Madina and the national headquarters of the Ghana National Fire Service have been deployed to put out a fire the broke out behind the Amasaman China Mall.
Personnel from four fire stations are currently at the scene working hard to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining structures including the China mall
The cause of the fire, the extent of the damage and whether anyone has been hurt are not yet known.
The incident comes two days after a fire at the Duraplast factory in Accra on Thursday, October 1.
The National Ambulance Service said eight people received medical attention, including two who were hit by a falling poly tank and taken to Holy Trinity Hospital.
Duraplast has since said it will resume operations on Monday, October 5.
