The late Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Dramani Bukari, has been laid to rest in Damongo in the Savannah Region, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
The burial ceremony was preceded by a sermon by Islamic clergy on the inevitability of death, followed by the Janazah prayer at the deceased’s family residence.

The prayer was attended by family members, management and staff of the NPA, colleagues, industry players and well-wishers from across the country.
Following the prayer, the remains of Dr Bukari were conveyed to the Damongo cemetery, where he was laid to rest.

Hundreds of mourners, including dignitaries and industry captains, gathered to bid farewell to the late NPA Deputy Chief Executive and offer their condolences to his bereaved family.

Dr Dramani Bukari passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, after a short illness.
During his tenure as Deputy Chief Executive of the NPA, Dr Bukari spearheaded the Authority’s Centre of Excellence and played a key role in championing the implementation of the 24-Hour Economy Programme in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
He also served in various capacities and was widely remembered for his humility, discipline, commitment and selfless leadership.
Colleagues and associates described him as a dedicated professional who demonstrated genuine care for his family, friends, subordinates and colleagues, as well as the leaders he worked with.
Dr Bukari was a husband, father, mentor and academic whose contributions to the petroleum sector and public service earned him respect among his peers and colleagues.
His burial brought together family, friends, colleagues and stakeholders who gathered to honour his memory and celebrate a life marked by service, leadership and dedication.
