The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates.

The results are now available on WAEC Ghana’s official website for candidates who wish to access them online.

According to the Council, a total of 2,987 candidates registered for the examination, comprising 1,618 males and 1,369 females from across the country.

The examination was conducted at selected centres in some regional capitals, with 101 candidates recorded as absent.

Meanwhile, WAEC has announced that the results of nine candidates have been withheld following suspected cases of collusion detected during the marking process.

The Council explained that candidates whose results have been withheld can visit the dedicated irregularities portal to view the reasons for the action and receive guidance on the next steps.

WAEC has assured affected candidates that the withholding of results forms part of its standard procedures to investigate suspected examination malpractices and ensure the integrity of the examination process.

The Council expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful conduct of the 2026 BECE for Private Candidates and the release of the provisional results.
