Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has revealed that she recently underwent major surgery, the reason for her recent absence from the spotlight.
The award-winning artiste shared the update with fans on social media, posting photos of herself recovering in a hospital bed surrounded by colourful “Get Well Soon” balloons, fresh flowers and thoughtful gifts.
In an emotional message, Ayra Starr disclosed that although she had hoped for a quick recovery, the procedure turned out to be more complicated than expected.
“I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery but it was more complicated than they expected.”
Despite the setback, the singer reassured fans that she is taking time to rest and recover before returning to work.
She also used the opportunity to drum up support for her upcoming project, Starrgirl, as she fans to keep the excitement alive while she recuperates.
“I just need a bit of rest and I’ll be back!!! Starrgirl is coming so soooon. I need everyone out there spreading the word, tell your friends, your family, your neighbours! Order Starrgirl ASAP!!! Love you guys.”
The touching images showed the “Rush” hitmaker smiling from her hospital bed as she focused on healing, with many fans and fellow celebrities flooding the comments section with prayers and well wishes for her speedy recovery.
