The family of 17-year-old SHS graduate, David Atidoglo Kito, who has reportedly gone missing at Domeabra in the Obuasi East Municipality of the Ashanti Region, is calling for a full police investigation into circumstances surrounding his disappearance, including the role of a local pastor he had been staying with.
Obuasi District Police Crime Officer, ASP Emmanuel Adjei, has confirmed the case to Adom News, with investigations currently underway.
According to the father of the missing boy, Emmanuel Kwesi Adonu, he received a phone call on Wednesday, June 24, around 9:00 p.m. from Pastor Maxwell Asamoah of the Era of Charis Church, asking whether David had arrived at home in Old Edubiase in the Adansi North District.
He said he responded in the negative, after which the pastor explained that he had earlier instructed David to go and switch on the church lights, but the boy never returned, prompting him to report the matter.
However, the family has raised concerns over inconsistencies in the pastor’s account, questioning why only David was sent on the task when, according to them, it is usually routine for two children to be assigned together for such duties.

They argue that the circumstances surrounding the boy’s last known movement raise suspicion and are therefore urging police to invite and interrogate the pastor as part of investigations.
Speaking to Adom News, the father, Emmanuel Kwesi Adonu, insisted that the family wants clarity on what happened to their son after he left for the assignment.
For his part, Pastor Maxwell Asamoah confirmed that David, who completed SHS this year, was sent to switch on the church lights but did not return.
He said he first raised the alarm through the community information centre to alert residents and later reported the matter to the police.
Police say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to locate the missing teenager.
