Fire guts seven-bedroom house at Agona Swedru

A fire outbreak at Achiase in Agona Swedru in the Central Region has gutted part of a seven-bedroom house, destroying belongings in one of the rooms.

The incident occurred on June 27, 2026, and could have resulted in a major loss but for the swift intervention of firefighters who managed to prevent the flames from spreading beyond a single room.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire started under unclear circumstances and quickly engulfed one of the rooms in the house.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene managed to bring the situation under control within minutes, saving the remaining six rooms from destruction.

Although no injuries or casualties were recorded, residents say personal items in the affected room were completely burnt before the fire was contained.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established as investigations are expected to continue.
