The Member of Parliament for the Aowin Constituency, Oscar Ofori Larbi, has visited victims of the recent floods at Samraboi and parts of Enchi in the Western North Region, donating relief items to support displaced families.

The visit follows unprecedented flooding in the affected communities, which has left several residents struggling with shelter and basic necessities.

During his interaction with the victims, the MP donated essential items including 30 bags of rice, 10 boxes of mackerel, 100 mats, 300 bags of sachet water, and other relief supplies to help cushion those affected.

He expressed sympathy for the victims and assured them of his continued support, while urging local authorities to identify safer and unflooded areas for possible relocation of residents to prevent future disasters.

According to him, relocating affected communities to safer grounds remains the most sustainable solution to the recurring flooding challenges in the area.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chief of Samraboi-Nsuoakyire, Nana Sikayena Boafo, thanked the MP for the timely intervention and called for sustained support to help families recover from the disaster.

Meanwhile, the Aowin Municipal NADMO Director, Salifu Karim Ndego, advised displaced residents to maintain proper hygiene practices to prevent potential disease outbreaks, particularly cholera and malaria, in the affected communities.
