The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of its 2026 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra-District re-posting exercise for staff across the country.
According to a statement issued to Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors, the procedures for obtaining assurances remain unchanged, with all required documentation still in force.
The exercise will follow a strict timeline to ensure smooth processing and timely approvals ahead of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Key Schedule For 2026 Re-Posting Exercise
Issuance of assurances to eligible applicants begins on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Deadline for issuance of assurances is Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Processing of inter-regional re-posting applications at the regional level runs from Wednesday, June 17 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Deadline for processing all inter-regional and inter/intra-district re-postings is Monday, August 31, 2026.
Approved postings will take effect from the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year in September 2026.
GES has directed all regional offices to promptly forward processed documents to headquarters to speed up approval processes. Regional offices have also been instructed to submit lists of staff granted assurances to the HRMD Secretariat at GES Headquarters in Accra.
Management further emphasized that no staff member will be released for re-posting without official approval and issuance of a re-posting letter from the Director-General.
The Service expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all regional and district offices in ensuring a smooth and efficient exercise.
