A devastating fire has destroyed Bohyeba FM, a radio station based at Assin Nyakomase in the Central Region.

The fire, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 30, 2026, completely gutted the station’s facilities, destroying its main studio, broadcasting equipment and other critical infrastructure, forcing the station off air.

The incident has dealt a major blow to the radio station, which serves listeners in Assin Nyakomase and surrounding communities with news, current affairs and entertainment programming.

In a statement issued after the incident, management and directors of Bohyeba FM described the fire as occurring under “very mysterious circumstances.”

According to the statement, the blaze broke out at dawn and reduced the station to ashes.

Management disclosed that the matter has since been reported to the police for investigations to determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The extent of the financial losses is yet to be officially assessed, but the destruction of the studio and broadcasting equipment is expected to significantly affect the station’s operations in the coming weeks.
