Midfielder Thomas Partey and forward Inaki Williams have joined the Black Stars camp in Cardiff as Ghana intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and their upcoming international friendly against Wales.
The arrival of the duo increases the number of players in camp to 24, with both players reporting on Saturday morning before taking part in the team’s first training session of the day at Dragon Park.
Partey and Williams joined the 22 players who have been training with the squad since Tuesday as head coach Otto Addo continues to fine-tune preparations ahead of the Mundial.
Players currently in camp include Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Caleb Yirenkyi, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Anang, Solomon Agbasi, Paul Reverson, Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Marvin Senaya, Alidu Seidu, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Jonas Adjetey, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Prince Kwabena Adu, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, and Inaki Williams.
The Black Stars will take on Wales in an international friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, before concluding their preparatory matches against Jamaica on June 10.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
The four-time African champions will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Ghana will then wrap up their group-stage matches against Croatia on June 27.
The Black Stars will be hoping to advance beyond the group stage for the first time since reaching the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
