Black Stars assistant coach Roger De Sa has spoken highly of head coach Carlos Queiroz, highlighting the Portuguese tactician’s open and collaborative approach since taking charge of the team on a short-term basis.
Queiroz, appointed in March following the departure of Otto Addo, has previously worked with De Sa across several national teams, including Iran, Colombia, Egypt and Oman.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, De Sa described the former Real Madrid coach as a manager who values input from his technical team.
“Carlos listens. He doesn’t have to take every opinion, but he welcomes different views,” he said.
The 73-year-old Queiroz is leading Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, where the Black Stars will make their fifth appearance at the tournament.
In their latest outing, however, Ghana fell 2-0 to Mexico in a friendly match played on Saturday morning, a result that exposed areas still under refinement ahead of the global showpiece.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. They begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field in Toronto, before facing England on June 23 at the Boston Stadium. Their final group fixture comes against Croatia on June 27 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Before the World Cup, the Black Stars will continue their build-up with a friendly against Wales on June 2 at Cardiff City Stadium.
