Seven people on Frsustained injuries following a collision involving two vehicles at Kwamekrom in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The accident involved a Toyota Vitz with registration number AS 1614-22, driven by 51-year-old Winifred Amponsah from Fayiase, who was travelling toward Modaso, and a Toyota Vitz taxi with registration number AS 4887-25, driven by 24-year-old Richard Oppong, who was heading from Subri Nkwanta to Bibiani.
Speaking to Adom News after the accident, Richard Oppong said he had picked up passengers from Subri Nkwanta and was on his way to Bibiani when the private vehicle allegedly veered into his lane at a section of the road between Kwamekrom and Kyenkyenase.
According to him, although he attempted to avoid the crash, the collision could not be prevented.
He also appealed to authorities to urgently repair the numerous potholes on the Bibiani–Sefwi Bekwai road, arguing that the poor state of the road continues to contribute to accidents in the area.
The injured victims were rushed to the Anhwiaso Community Hospital for treatment, while police have commenced investigations into the incident.
