National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party supporters not to allow disappointment over political appointments to discourage them from remaining loyal to the party.
According to him, every party member who contributed to the NDC’s success would eventually be recognised at the appropriate time.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia made the remarks during a stop at Sawla in the Savannah Region as part of his nationwide thank-you tour to appreciate party supporters following the party’s electoral victory.
Addressing party faithful, he cautioned members against feelings of anger and regret over appointments, stressing that patience and commitment to the party remain important.
“Don’t let anger over appointments discourage you to the point of regretting your support for the party later in life,” he advised.
He added that opportunities and recognition come at different times, noting that everyone’s contribution would eventually be rewarded.
“God has His own way and time of sharing, so at the appropriate time, everybody’s light will shine,” he stated.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia also appealed to party supporters to remain faithful to the NDC and avoid defecting to rival political parties out of frustration.
He alleged that the New Patriotic Party often mocks disappointed members of opposing parties but urged NDC supporters not to be discouraged into crossing carpet.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Andrew Chiwentey, on behalf of constituents, expressed appreciation to the NDC leadership for embarking on the thank-you tour.
He also called for peace and unity within the constituency, stressing the need for residents to coexist peacefully regardless of tribal differences.
“We are one people and one family in the constituency no matter the tribe,” he said.
