Award-winning singer Kuami Eugene believes rapper Medikal could emerge winner of the coveted Artiste of the Year category at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Kuami Eugene said Medikal currently enjoys strong public support and has built a massive fan base that could significantly influence the outcome of the awards.

According to him, although competition for the top prize remains intense, artistes with strong mass appeal often stand a better chance of securing votes from the public.

He noted that while artistes like Wendy Shay also command strong support, Medikal’s connection with the masses appears even stronger.

Kuami Eugene explained that when an artiste has a successful year combined with solid fan support, it usually reflects positively in award schemes that involve public voting.

His comments add to the growing conversations surrounding this year’s Artiste of the Year race, which has generated significant debate among music fans and industry players.

Medikal stands against strong contestants including Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton
