Member of Parliament for Guan Constituency, Fred Agbenyo, has called on Ghanaians to remain patient as government works to address ongoing challenges in the energy sector.
Speaking on UTV Ghana, he acknowledged that recent power issues are worrying and have affected households and businesses.
According to him, parts of the country’s electricity infrastructure, including transformers and other equipment, have not undergone the necessary maintenance over the years, contributing to the current challenges.
He noted that the sector is also dealing with significant debt, which has further complicated efforts to ensure a stable power supply.
Fred Agbenyo explained that ongoing maintenance works are necessary to restore efficiency and improve electricity delivery across the country.
He therefore urged the public to support President John Dramani Mahama and the government as they work to stabilise the system.
He expressed optimism that once the maintenance works are completed, the country will experience a more stable and reliable electricity supply.
