Chief Executive Officer of Aduana FC, Collins Atta Poku, has reaffirmed his confidence in head coach Cioaba Aristica, despite growing uncertainty over the Romanian’s future at the club.
The Ogya lads saw their FA Cup campaign come to an end following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Nations FC in the semi-finals at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Friday.
An early strike from Emmanuel Annor proved decisive, sealing victory for Nations.
Speaking after the match, Atta Poku maintained that Aristica remains central to Aduana’s long-term plans but revealed that ongoing family issues could force the club into a difficult decision.
“He’s the right guy for the job. But he has some personal issues at home that we’ve been grappling with for some time now, and we are optimistic that the summer will clear this problem up for us,” he said.
“But if it doesn’t, we’ll be left with no option other than to look elsewhere. Genuinely, he’s the one we want to continue with because he still has a contract running. But it’s a family situation and we can’t speak much about it.”
He added that while the club is eager to continue working with Aristica—who still has a running contract—the uncertainty surrounding his personal situation leaves the door open for a possible change.
“So we are hoping that the summer will clear up the issues and then he will return. But if the issue becomes as critical as it did in November, December, and the latter part of March, then we’ll be left with no option other than to look elsewhere.”
Aduana currently sit fourth in the Ghana Premier League standings with 45 points, trailing leaders Medeama SC by eight points with five matches remaining. Despite the FA Cup setback, the club remains in contention and will be aiming for a strong finish in the title race.
