UDS appoints Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as new Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (University for Development Studies) has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.

The decision was taken at a Council meeting held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

His appointment is set to take effect from June 27, 2026, and will run until August 31, 2030.

As Vice-Chancellor, Professor Iddrisu will provide overall academic and administrative leadership, guide the university’s strategic direction, and ensure the delivery of quality higher education in line with national and global standards.

He currently serves as Principal of the Nyankpala Campus of UDS and is recognised for his contributions to teaching, research, and community engagement, as well as his experience in university administration.
