A 26-year-old man, Wisdom Tetteh Assem, has been stabbed to death following a violent confrontation at Adorkorpe, near Ada Kasseh in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspect, identified as Eric Kartel, a block factory worker, is currently on the run after allegedly stabbing the deceased during an altercation linked to a dispute over a mobile phone.
According to reports, the incident occurred at a local drinking spot, where Kartel reportedly accused Assem of urinating on the premises. The confrontation escalated when the suspect allegedly seized the victim’s phone, heightening tensions between the two.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect later returned to the scene armed with a pair of scissors and allegedly stabbed Assem during the ensuing confrontation. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Ghana Police Service, through the Ada Divisional Command, has retrieved the suspected murder weapon as part of ongoing investigations.
Police have since arrested a friend of the suspect to assist with investigations, while a manhunt has been launched to apprehend Kartel, who remains at large.
Authorities are appealing to the public to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect as efforts intensify to bring him to justice.
