Two firefighters were injured on Friday night while battling a blaze that tore through a two-storey, eight-room building at Adjiringano, close to Ability Square.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said it received the distress call at 9:32 p.m. on November 14, 2025. A crew from the Legon Fire Station arrived on the scene at 10:03 p.m., with additional support later coming from the Madina, National Headquarters and Adenta stations.
A private water tanker was also brought in to secure an uninterrupted water supply as the flames intensified.
Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control at 12:16 a.m., finally extinguishing the last pockets of fire by 1:08 a.m.
According to the GNFS, seven of the eight rooms on the top floor were destroyed, but one room was saved.
All rooms on the ground floor, along with nearby buildings, were protected from the advancing flames.
Two officers sustained injuries during the operation, one suffered a stab-like wound to his left arm, while another was hit on the shoulder by a falling block.
Both were treated at Unity Clinic in Madina and later discharged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
