2025/26 GHPL MD6 Wrap: Bechem United pip Vision FC as Hearts of Oak shock Chelsea in Berekum

-

Matchday 6 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League produced a blend of surprises, comebacks, and decisive wins across various venues.

At the TNA Park, champions Medeama SC were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Samartex in an entertaining contest. The visitors took the lead in stunning fashion when Dramani Awuah spotted Medeama’s goalkeeper off his line and struck from the centre circle to silence the home crowd. Medeama pressed relentlessly for an equalizer, and their persistence paid off late in the game as Kingsley Braye pounced on a rebound in the 89th minute to salvage a point.

At the Tuba Astro Turf, Dreams FC finally registered their first win of the season with a commanding 2-0 victory over Nations FC. Ernest Appiah opened the scoring in the seventh minute, before Suraj Seidu doubled the lead nine minutes into the second half to seal a morale-boosting triumph for the “Still Believe” lads.

In Bechem, Bechem United claimed their first win of the campaign with a 2-0 success over Vision FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. After a goalless first half, goals from Yaw Acheampong and Abdul Razak Alhassan in quick succession—on the 67th and 70th minutes—secured all three points for the Hunters.

At the Golden City Park, Hearts of Oak continued their fine form with a 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea. Following a tight first half, Hamza Issah broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute before Mawuli Wayo sealed the result in stoppage time.

In Hohoe, Aduana FC maintained their impressive start with a 2-0 win against Hohoe United. Emmanuel Marfo struck early in the fifth minute, while Mezack Afriyie added a second midway through the second half. The visitors finished the match with 10 men after Raymond Agyemang was sent off in the 88th minute.

At the Swedru Sports Stadium, Swedru All Blacks returned to winning ways by defeating Basake Holy Stars 2-0. Benjamin Adjei opened the scoring in the sixth minute, and Hafiz Alhassan doubled the advantage after the break to seal a comfortable win.

The round will conclude on Monday, with Bibiani GoldStars hosting Heart of Lions at the DUN’s Park, while Eleven Wonders face Karela United.

Meanwhile, the clash between Asante Kotoko and Young Apostles has been postponed due to Kotoko’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

After six rounds, Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak, Aduana FC, and Heart of Lions occupy the top four positions, while Berekum Chelsea, Basake Holy Stars, and Eleven Wonders find themselves in the relegation zone.
