
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for promotion to senior grades within its non-teaching staff category for the 2024/2025 academic year.
In a circular dated September 24, 2025, and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director-General (MS), the Service invited eligible officers from various professional classes, including Accounting, Internal Audit, Administration, Catering, Technical, Library, Supply, Laboratory Technician, Secretarial, and Driver categories.
Positions available for promotion include Chief Accountant, Chief Internal Auditor, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Domestic Bursar, Chief Technical Officer, Chief Librarian, Chief Supply Officer, Chief Laboratory Technician, Principal Private Secretary, and Chief Driver, among others.
According to the guidelines, applicants must have attained their current rank on or before 2021 and maintained continuous satisfactory service and good conduct since.
Those applying with postgraduate qualifications such as a Master’s or PhD must have obtained them in or before 2022.
Applications are to be submitted online through the designated portal (https://bit.ly/GESPROMOTION25).
Required documents include the applicant’s last promotion or appointment letter, postgraduate certificate where applicable, and a recent passport-sized photograph. All submissions must be uploaded in clear, readable PDF format.
The deadline for applications is October 10, 2025.
GES cautioned that failure to comply with the stated guidelines will result in automatic disqualification. Regional directors have also been instructed to circulate the notice to ensure all eligible officers are informed on time.
