NPP Tema Central Secretary challenges dismissal from TDC

The Tema Central Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ian Okwei Tabalor, has challenged what he describes as his wrongful dismissal from the Tema Development Company (TDC) Limited.

TDC’s Managing Director, Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, alleged that Mr. Tabalor’s appointment was terminated over his alleged involvement in questionable land transactions.

His dismissal was linked to claims that he facilitated the transfer of a public plot in Tema Community 5, originally designated for a toilet facility, to his wife for GH₵2,000.

However, speaking on Accra-based Citi FM, Mr. Tabalor said no official explanation was provided in his termination letter, though he had accepted the decision.

“My recruitment file is in the company. My termination letter is also there. But I was dismissed without any stated reason. I worked and served, and if the MD decides to make such a decision, I accept it in good faith,” he said.

He stressed that he had never engaged in any conduct that could tarnish the company’s image, adding that the dismissal letter was handed to him while he was on leave.

“I have not done anything to bring the company’s name into disrepute. While I was on leave, I was given the termination letter, and that was all. I have followed the proper exit process and do not intend to trade accusations or tarnish anyone’s image,” he added.
