The National Security Council Secretariat has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, and the seven others who perished in the August 6 military helicopter crash.
At the state burial held at the Black Star Square on Friday, August 15, a representative of the Council delivered the message on behalf of the National Security Coordinator, senior management, and staff.
“On behalf of the National Security Coordinator, senior management, and the entire staff of the National Security Council Secretariat and its agencies, I offer my condolences to the families of our colleagues and comrades who tragically left us on Wednesday, August 6,” the tribute began.
Describing the tragedy as one that has left a “deep and permanent void” in the nation’s history, the Secretariat praised the victims’ individual contributions to national development as “compelling and exemplary.”
Special homage was paid to Alhaji Mohammed, with the statement lauding his humility, dedication, and tireless service to Ghana.
“The Secretariat remains inspired by the legacy of humility, dedication, and service of Mohammed Muniru Limuna, the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Human Security, and commits to carry on with his quest for a safer, just, and resilient Ghana. His time with us was brief, but his vision will endure for years to come,” the tribute read.
Honouring all eight victims as patriots who served Ghana to the very end, the message expressed confidence that their work would continue to support the President’s agenda to enhance national security and reset the nation’s priorities.
The tribute closed with a prayer: “May the Almighty God, the Creator of the universe, grant their souls peace and a restful place in eternity. We wish the families peace, comfort, and grace in these difficult times. Fare thee well, our eight heroes.”
