Mohbad’s friend breaks silence on paternity of late singer’s son

Spending, a close associate of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly denied swirling online rumours suggesting he is the biological father of Mohbad’s son, Liam.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Spending expressed shock and disappointment at the claims, describing them as “false and damaging.”

“I’ve been seeing several bloggers insinuating I’m Liam’s father. This is not a joke for real. To set the record straight, I’m not his father, and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y’all need to stop spreading these false narratives. I’m happy to have a DNA done if required,” he wrote.

His response follows weeks of online speculation surrounding Mohbad’s family, particularly unresolved questions about the late singer’s death and the paternity of his son.

While multiple individuals have been wrongly linked to the child, Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has maintained that Liam is indeed the product of her marriage to the late singer. She has also expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test to end the speculation once and for all.
