Voting has started smoothly in the 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency, where the Electoral Commission(EC) is conducting a rerun.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Nana Akua Afriyie, is the number one on the ballot paper while the National Democratic Congress candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn, takes the second spot.
The controversy rerun stems from the December 2024 general elections, where disputes over pink sheet authenticity and collation procedures left the parliamentary results in Ablekuma North unresolved.
Akua Afriyie is confident about her victory despite the NPP’s boycott.
More than 6,000 eligible voters are expected to cast their ballots in the keen contest.
