The Ghana National Fire Service (Ghana National Fire Service) has rescued two persons involved in a road accident and successfully contained a domestic fire outbreak in the Volta Region.

According to the Service in a statement issued by the Public Relations Office of the Volta Regional Command on Thursday, May 14, 2026, personnel from the Peki Fire Station responded to two separate emergency incidents on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo.

In the first incident, firefighters attended to a vehicular accident involving a SINO tipper truck along the Peki–Asikuma Road.

The GNFS said two male victims were successfully rescued after officers arrived promptly at the scene.

Later in the day, the fire crew responded to a domestic fire outbreak at Asikuma Zongo where a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house had been engulfed by flames.

Firefighters managed to confine and extinguish the blaze before it spread to nearby buildings, thereby preventing further destruction.

The Service has since urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to facilitate swift response and the protection of lives and property.
