Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has endorsed a potential move to Saudi Arabia for Thomas Partey following the midfielder’s departure from Arsenal.

Partey, 31, is currently a free agent after his contract with the Premier League side expired at the end of the 2024/25 season. During his five-year stint at Arsenal, the Ghana international made 167 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists.

The former Atlético Madrid star has attracted interest from top Saudi Arabian clubs, including Al Hilal and Al-Ahli. European sides such as Barcelona, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce are also reportedly monitoring the midfielder’s situation.

Speaking to 3Sports, Sannie Daara confirmed the growing list of suitors and advised Partey to consider the financial rewards of a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.

“The interest from Saudi Arabia has been true. And even one more club in Saudi Arabia has been added to the clubs that were originally interested in him. There are also other clubs in France and Italy interested in him,” he said. “After July 5, he can now have the focus to look at his next destination.”

“But let’s give him these moments for the next few days to run out, and we’ll see him playing for a good club,” he added. “But for me, my advice to Thomas—and I’ve told him this personally—is that at his age, he should look at what he will spend from now until the rest of his life. The money from Saudi Arabia is tempting. I think he should go for the Saudi money; it will help him.”

Partey is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
