The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to hold a crucial meeting with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, June 30, 2025, as part of renewed efforts to bring lasting peace to the conflict-stricken town of Bawku.
This development was announced in a press release issued by the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, reaffirming Otumfuo’s unwavering commitment to resolving the long-standing tensions in the area.
“His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, 30th June 2025,” the statement confirmed.
The Palace further urged all parties involved in the Bawku crisis to support the ongoing peace process.
“Asantehene requests all stakeholders to cooperate so that we can find lasting peace in Bawku.”
