The match-day seven of the Ghana Premier League produced some surprising results at the various stadia with Hearts of Oak returning to winning ways.

Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium were held to 1:1 with Liberty Professionals and in Bechem, Berekum Chelsea’s unbeaten run came to an end as they lost 2:1 to Bechem United.

Aduana Stars pipped Medeama SC by a lone goal at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium.

In a 4-4-2 formation, Hearts of Oak head trainer, Edward Nii Odoom leads the team.

Goalkeeper

Ferdinand Sabi Acquah

The WAFA shot-stopper was superb as they pipped Great Olympics by a lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Acquah saved the day for the Academy Boys with some impressive saves and will be hoping to continue his form against Asante Kotoko on Wednesday.

Defenders

Christopher Nartey

Despite being held to a 1:1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by Liberty Professionals, the Asante Kotoko defender was brilliant for his side.

Nartey has been sensational for the Porcupine Warriors since the arrivals of Maxwell Konadu at the club.

Andrew Ntim Daniel

The enterprise left-back frustrated the forward of the Great Olympics on Sunday. His ball control and his ability to locate his players was unbelievable.

Ahmed Adams

The 26-year-old was on top of his game again for the Chelsea despite their 2:1 defeat to Bechem United. He has been scintillating for the Berekum based side with many tipping to earn a call up to the Black Stars.

Samed Ibrahim

The promising centre back was a pillar for Ashgold in their 1:0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs and made some dangerous interceptions for his side.

Midfielders

Emmanuel Nettey

The Hearts of Oak midfielder has made the headlines since the start of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League. In their game against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, Nettey was the engineer of the midfield.

He played a crucial role in their 1:0 win to ensure they bounce back to winning ways after they 2:1 lose to Asante Kotoko.

Kyei Baffour Elis

The 26-year-old was a delight to watch as he dictated the midfield as Liberty Professionals snatched a point from Asante Kotoko.

Elis has been one of the best players for the Scientific Soccer lads.

Emmanuel Gyamfi

On the right side of the team is Emmanuel Gyamfi. The 27-year-old was impressive against Liberty Professionals.

Gyamfi controlled the game for the Warriors from the right side of the game.

Benjamin Tweneboah

Despite losing to Ashgold by a lone goal, Benjamin Tweneboah kept on fighting for Elmina Sharks. The hard-working left winger was hailed by the fans of the team despite returning back to Elmina with no point.

Attackers

Yahaya Mohammed

The Aduana Stars striker made the headlines again after his stunning freekick secured all three points for his side as they stunned Medeama SC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium.

The former Asante Kotoko forward made some huge impressions during the game. The bulky forward has now scored seven goals in the ongoing season.

Kofi Kudzi

After failing to propel his side to a win against Asante Kotoko, the striker scored the only goal for Hearts of Oak against Dreams FC.

The talented forward played a massive role to help Edward Nii Odoom’s side to protect their win. The defenders of the Still Believe lads had a nightmare due to the controlling ability of the striker.
