Former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe says he has no immediate plans to contest the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency but has not ruled out a future bid.

Baffoe, who has extensive experience in football administration, previously served as Deputy General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Speaking to 3Sports, the founder and General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) said he had turned down suggestions to pursue the GFA presidency on several occasions.

He explained that the position was not among his current ambitions, although he remained open to the possibility of reconsidering his stance in the future.

“I’ve said no on multiple occasions. It doesn’t drive me, but I don’t know what is going to happen in six months or 12 months or 24 months. For now I don’t see myself there, but you never know what tomorrow,” Baffoe said.

His comments come ahead of the next GFA presidential election, scheduled for October 2027.

The election will determine the association’s leadership for the next term, with incumbent president Kurt Okraku approaching the end of his second term.

Kurt Okraku has come under intense pressure to vacate his role following Black Stars’ poor start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The senior national team now sits bottom of Group C with no points and will hope to review their qualification hopes when they take on Somalia in a back-to-back games in November at the Accra Sports Stadium.
