Why Akufo-Addo ordered Kwesi Nyantakyi’s arrest – Chief of staff explains

A Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor has explained that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ordered the arrest of the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi to show that he is a responsible citizen of Ghana.

Speaking at a press conference at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, Abu Jinapor said the President arrived at the decision after watching the yet-to-be premiered Anas expose on the GFA and further conducting extensive consultations on it.

“Nyantakyi is seen in the video attempting to use the President’s name and that of the Vice President, and other senior officials of government to induce supposed potential investors into our country to part with various sums of monies, the President as a responsible citizen and indeed and in fact, more particularly the chief custodian of our laws…he is fully satisfied that a prima facie case can be established…,” he said.

The president, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo issued an order for the arrest of the president of the GFA, Kwesi Nyatakyi.
