The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a clarion call on all Ghanaians to resist the compilation for a new Voters Register.

According to the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, this is an attempt to destroy Ghana’s democracy and must be resisted.

“We cannot struggle to protect the democracy for over 30 years for one individual to break it apart so we will not agree for our democracy to be toiled with,” General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, noted.

Addressing participants of the ‘Tikusayi’ demonstration, which is the Tamale edition to protest the compilation of a new register, Mr Nketia said the fight to protect Ghana’s democracy is for all.

“This is the beginning of a long drought battle to protect our democracy and we are calling on every individual not just political parties but Imams, pastors and other religious leaders to join us,” he added.
