Water shortage

The Ghana Water Company, (GWCL) has announced that water shortage will hit parts of Accra following a maintenance work scheduled to take place in the designated areas.

A statement signed by the Chief Manager in charge of communications, Stanley Martey explained the water interruption follows the bursting of a 36-inch transmission pipeline on the main Mallam-Gbawe road.

It added, “Areas affected in the water cut include Sakaman, Odorkor, Dansoman, Agege, Chorkor, Korle-bu, Korle Gonno, Kaneshie, Mallam, Bubuashie among other areas in Western parts of Accra.”

Even though the statement did not mention when services would be restored, it said engineers of the company are working around the clock to complete the repair works so as to restore supply.
