Some persons suspected to be land guards stormed the Ojobi Police Station in the Central region and brutally assaulted some police officers on duty.
Some residents who spoke to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said two other civilians were also attacked in the process.
According to them, a police officer and two other people were stabbed during the attack and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
It is unclear what triggered the attack Wednesday morning but residents suspect the attack stems from a protracted dispute between the police and land guards in the area over land protection.
Residents say the police officer on duty managed to call for reinforcement leading to the arrest of six land guards.
Meanwhile, the Ojobi District Police commander, ASP David Osei Fofie who confirmed the incident to Adom News said his outfit is currently hunting for the leader of the group who planned and executed the assault on the police.
