The Ministry of Justice and the Attorney Generals Department has been cited by the Auditor General for financial malfeasance.
In the 2016 Auditor General’s report, the Ministry of Justice said government was indebted to an amount of GH₵ 572,718.28 in respect of leave and clothing allowances for staff.

However, a probe by the Auditor General revealed that management did not do due diligence.
Also, the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney Generals Department claimed it owed an amount of GH₵ 3,742.50 in respect of allowances for night watchmen and drivers attached to the Copyright Office as at 31 December, 2016.

To ascertain the veracity of this claim, the Auditor General reviewed the underlying records and schedules in respect of the outstanding claims and certified them as valid as at December 31, 2016.
But Management at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney Generals Department failed to respond to questions raised by the Auditor General.
