Two lovebirds were publicly flogged in front of a crowd after their sex tape allegedly went viral on social media.
Hundreds of onlookers jeered and took photos of the accused who were deemed to have violated strict Islamic laws.

The act, sanctioned by the Dakpema of Tamale, Naa Bawa Fuseini, was part of efforts to instill discipline in the youth in the Northern regional capital, Tamale.
The two were given 12 strokes of cane each to deter others from perpetrating the same act. The lady, whose name was given only as Khadija, was given an identification haircut as part of her punishment.

Spokesperson, Malgu Naa Alhaji Majeed, said the two are also required to produce two rams and some fowls for the pacification of the gods for the sacrilegious act.
