The Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vowed to ensure persons caught stealing foods meant for students of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) are punished.
Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC is demanding the Regional Director of Education, Gertrude Mensah, headmaster, Rev Abraham and matron, Comfort Oduro Bruce be sacked.
The self-appointed free SHS ambassador stressed until these people are punished to serve as a deterrent to others, the flagship policy will collapse.
The headmaster and matron of the school have been invited for questioning over an alleged theft of the school’s food supplies.
But Abronye DC on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem said the actions taken is not enough.
He revealed that, the Regional Director of Education is deeply involved in the stealing because “her car is used to loot the booty and sold at her provision shops in town”.
The NPP youth activist also alleged that, the headmaster also collected GH₵2000 from parents of first year students for admission against government directive when the free SHS policy was implemented.
Abronye DC bemoaned the inaction of the Eastern Regional Minister; Eric Kwakye Daffuor whom he claims is sweeping the matter under the carpet because “the Regional Education Direction was his classmate”.
The outspoken NPP man said as port of his contribution to help President Akufo-Addo to fight corruption, he will not shield anyone including his party people.
He hinted several schools including Apam SHS, Abuakwa State College and many others are engage in similar act and will soon expose them.
Abronye DC is convinced until these ‘evil’ school heads are rooted out of the system, they will collapse the free SHS.
